17 year old white male.  This patient noticed a white coating and dorsal tingling sensation of his tongue 3 days earlier. The anterior portion began to be tender, red and papular 1 day ago. The tongue is slightly enlarged and he has several nonspecific, nontender erythematous macules of his chest and face. He also has developed painful knee joints and a fever of 103 degrees F.
