A fascination for lesions and diseases of the teeth and surrounding structures was a major component of the modern dental profession at its birth, starting with the 1830s. This site offers a collection of drawings from the dental and medical literature of the mid- and late-nineteenth century. These were gleaned from the browsings of Dr. J. E. Bouquot, Director of Research, Maxillofacial Center for Education and Research, Morgantown, WV (www.maxillofacialcenter.com).
